Shelter Botswana Health Promotions Home Based Care is a non profit making organisation that from it’s inception in 2011 has sought to facilitate an improve livelihood for individuals especially children residing in North West District of Botswana.

The organisation involves itself with several community activities including but not excluding HIV/AIDS campaigns and the running of the preschool designed for orphans and vulnerable children by promoting equality and diversity, preventing prejudice and discrimination, ensuring equal access to services and promoting good relations between all sections of the communities it serves.

The centre has 55 children. Shelter Botswana is active in project research, implementation, impact assessment, and project revision based on effectiveness.

The organization aims to provide the following services:

1) Health: Sanitation, hygiene, nutrition education programs, alcohol and
substance abuse, management of communicable diseases such as HIV
and AIDS, Tuberculosis and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s),
facilitation of mobile Medical Services in remote rural areas.

2) Education: Literacy, access to pre-school and secondary schools,
outreach to youth on health and other issues.

3) Environment: Clean drinking water, sustainable conservation farming, promotion of farming techniques (perma-culture), and natural disaster awareness.

4) Economic Development: Skills and job training development of local micro finance groups and community education on finances.
