VACANCY

Position: Regional Monitoring and Information Officers (M & I) Reports to: National Monitoring and Information Officer

Terms of Reference: Regional Monitoring and Information Officers
BOTSWANA (NCONGO)

Introduction
Resource Africa (RASA) has implemented the development of a National (Regional) Monitoring and Information system to enhance data collection, and data storage, facilitate learning, and collaboration, and foster decision-making by various CBNRM stakeholders.
This innovative system is designed to enhance the capacity for communities’ data collection and analysis, improving decision-making processes. It seeks to improve routine data collection at the community level and provide relevant information to national governments, government departments, project implementers, community-based organizations, and local people. The system enables near real-time data reporting, thereby enabling timely responses and decision-making while supporting data collection at regional, national, and global advocacy levels.
Botswana has a total of 80 Community Trusts (CBOs). We began our implementation with 10 actively working CBOs located in the Ngamiland, Chobe, and Okavango Districts to collect data on a larger scale. These 10 Community Trusts include the Khwai Development Trust, Jakotsha Development Community Trust, Mababe Zokotsama Development Trust,
Okavango Mokoro Kopano Community Trust, Sankoyo Tshwaragano Management Trust, Chobe Enclave Community Trust, Qangwa Community Trust, Okavango Community Trust, Cgae Cgae Thabololo Trust, and Tcheku Community Trust.

To ensure the project’s effectiveness, it has been recommended that we recruit a supporting Monitoring and Implementation (M&I) Officer. This Officer will enhance the project’s functionality by covering all areas and ensuring timely execution. They will play a critical role in improving the system’s functionality and facilitating the transition to the new reporting processes.
