Ke Chaisitse Mo Mogareng (KECHMMO) Project
Ke Chaisitse Mo Mogareng (“we have had enough”) is a community-based condom distribution program using a network of taxis, bars, nightclubs, shebeens, tuck shops, depots, liquor stores, lodges and hotspots in Maun and the surrounding villages of Shorobe, Matsaudi, Sehithwa, Nxaraga, Komana, and Toteng. The project began in January 2016 and was coordinated by NCONGO, implemented by BOFWA and funded by the National AIDS Coordinating Agency (NACA) for 1 year. The key stakeholders of the project include NACA, DHMT, CMS/Letsholathebe Hospital, DAC, BOFWA, NCONGO, NGOs and health/social services in and around Maun, the community condom distributors, and our target population.
The Objective was to engage the community of Maun in the KECHMMO (“ Ke Chaisitse Mo Mogareng”) condom distribution campaign and to raise awareness on consistent condom use and sexual health promotion.
Our target population includes the general population in Maun and the surrounding areas, including key populations such as sex workers and MSM.
